Book Review

A Scarlet Coat: Uniforms, Flags and Equipment of British Forces in the War of 1812
by René Chartrand

230 pages,  400 illustrations, hardcover, color plates

R ené Chartrand has been amassing information on War of 1812 British and Canadian uniforms since the 1960s. While he has published numerous articles, papers, and small booklets on the subject, Mr Chartrand has never written a complete tome on the subject.  That is until now.  It is expected that this publication will quickly sell out and presently the publisher has no plans in reprinting it anytime in the near future.  It is expected that soon it will be available only in the re-sale market at many times its original price.
